The health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the entire planet into an unprecedented crisis. While young people may be the least affected by the disease itself, they are experiencing its consequences to a larger extent, including higher levels of unemployment, significant changes in how their needs are met, such as education, socialization, and leisure activities, and the impact on their mental health, among other things.

In today’s world, we believe that the development and widespread adoption of digital tourism can be an effective solution to address these problems, both in Europe and in countries outside of Europe.

The term “digital tourism” refers to how we use digital tools to organize, manage and even enjoy the travel experience. “Digital tourism” is therefore a set of systems that use all the tools of digital transformation to change the way we travel and the way the industry works.

The aim of this project is to facilitate the transition of young people from education to employment and to support the development of skills related to social entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. The goal is to assist young entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into reality.

The project will also have an educational perspective. By working with students coming from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, the project consortium will find solutions to the challenges of the lack of skills to solve problems and build long lasting cultural understanding on a daily basis.
