Project Description

FELIX ROMULIANA DIGITAL LABORATORY – CREATING THE CONCEPT OF A NEW PRESENTATION PROGRAM AT THE WORLD HERITAGE SITE GAMZIGRAD-ROMULIANA from  UNESCO Participation Programme for 2020-2021.

Project goal: Strengthening the role of youth in the processes of recognizing, protecting, transmitting and restoring cultural heritage and supporting the formation of healthy cultural identities.

Specific goal of the project: Conceptualising visual and narrative contents adapted to the interests of the audience of the new generation – creating the concept of a new presentation program at the Gamzigrad-Romuliana archaeological site by examining possible directions of interpretation and presentation of site in the physical and virtual world.

The project offers young population the opportunity to recognize, reflect, choose and present different aspects of Felix Romuliana’s cultural heritage depending on personal affinities and interests. The concept of the new presentation of Felix Romuliana will be based, among other things, on the use of innovative solutions through the digital upgrade of tangible and intangible heritage.

The project will be realized through two types of activities, which will be realized in parallel and which will intertwine.

I – Proposing a new concept and possible models of site presentation trough the working group consisting of experts and students coming from heritage and IT industries.  The academic students, enrolled in heritage and IT studies, will have the key role in the working group. Their participation in the realization of activities is necessary for the purpose of perceiving the needs and re-examining the visual and narrative models of the new audience from a generational perspective.

II – Work with high school pupils as active participants in creating content on the site intended to attract and interest their peers. It will consist of several modules: What do we know?, Storytelling, Preserving heritage and Creating together

Target groups: new generation audience, digital audience (age 15-25)

Heritage and IT experts, students, high school pupils of the Technical High School and Gymnasium in Zaječar
